DBZ Information
The Crew

Android 8 also known as Hatchan was originally created by Dr. Gero as a guard for the Red Ribbon, but it turns out that Android 8 hates fighting and he becomes friends with Goku instead. Hatchan appears at the end of the Buu Saga and helps donate energy to Goku in the final fight against Buu.

Android 16 is the third completely bionic android cyborg. Unlike his mechanical counterparts, his character is peaceful and has a love for the earth and nature, causing him to fight to protect it. His power is greater than that of both Android 17 and 18 as well as the fully powered 1st staged Cell. He is eventually over powered and defeated by the the 2nd staged Cell. After Bulma and her father Dr. Briefs repair him, he joins the battle in the Cell Game. He is damaged once again by Cell, this time beyond repair, and his demise is what pushed Gohan over the edge, transforming him into SSJ 2.

Android 17 is one of the androids Dr. Gero created for the purpose of killing Goku. In Future Trunk's world, he's simply an evil individual with no regard for human life. Along with #18, he killed most of the world including Piccolo, Vejeta, Yamcha, Tien and even Son Gohan, leaving Future Trunks as mankind's only hope. Although his character in the present Dbz world (not Trunks timeline) is not evil, his big ego got the best of him. Believing that no one in the universe is stronger than him, he could not accept that fact that he was unable to defeat Cell and fell an easy victim to Cell, which contributing to Cell's Development to 2nd stage

Android 18 is yet another of Dr. Gero's manical creations intended to kill Son Goku. Krillin falls in love with her after his first encounter with her and later settles down with her, and has a daughter.

Android 19 Is a fat android created by Dr. Gero. Android 19 has the ability to absorb energy from his opponents. Android 19 was quickly killed by Vegeta.

Artificial 17 is an android created by Dr. Gero and Dr. Myuu in hell. He escaped through a portal into Earth and fused with Android 17 to become Super 17.

Babi-di is an evil little magician who planned to destroy the world for the fun of it. He re-unleashed Buu but gets into an argument with him and is killed.

Bardock is Goku's father. Bardock was the leader of the stubborn resistance movement against Freezer's invasion. He is a lower level warrior, and a cold parent; he does not care much for his newborn Goku, who has low power. Later, he faces Frieza alone, but is killed by a huge energy ball that also destroys Planet Vegeta.

Batta is the tall muscular dark blue member of Team Ginyu. He was super fast, but killed by Vegeta.

Bebi was created by the Tsufuru-jins when the Saiyans took over Planet Plant. He attempted to take revenge and slowly turned most of Earth's inhabitants into his zombies but all his zombies returned to normal after Dende and Mr. Popo sprayed them with a special water. He also recreated his planet with the dragonballs and took over Vegeta's body to become Bebi-Vegeta, later killed by Goku.

Bibi-di is the father of Babi-di. This little evil magician is the creator of Buu.

Bojack is a planet conqueror. He landed on Earth and tried to take over the planet. He was killed by Gohan.

Bra (Bula) is the daughter of Vegeta and Bulma. She was 4 when Dragonball Z ended and 13 at the beginning of Dragonball GT. She is the one of the strongest females in Dragonball GT. Apparently, she doesn't seem to have inherited the Saiyajin love of battle as Pan, Gohan's daughter, has. She also appears in Dragon Ball GT as a loud and independent-minded adolescent. Seems like she takes on more from her mom.

Brolli is a super saiyan born on the same day as Goku and has a natural hatred towards him. As a baby, he was sent for execution by King Vegeta (who feared Brolli's awesome power) but survived. Years later, he encounters Goku again and trashes everyone, but is finally defeated by Goku. Survives and crashes on Earth. This time, he is killed by a Kamahamaha combination of Goku, Gohan, and Goten. Then gets a clone created from the DNA of his blood. The clone is destroyed by hardening in water.

Bulma is a vociferous and pushy person. She
is the daughter of Dr. Brief, the founder of the huge machinery/vehicle company, Capsule Corporation, so Bulma is also mechanically inclined. She develops a relationship with Vegeta (her old relationship with Yamcha had faltered). By the time Androids #19 and #20 (Dr. Gero) appear, Bulma has given birth to Trunks. In the epilogue, 10 years after the defeat of evil Buu, she has another child, a daughter named Bra.

Buu was created by Bibi-di for destruction. He defeated most of the Kaiou-shins and was cursed into his fat form. Years later, he was unleased again by Babi-di and sent to destroy Earth. Buu went through various form changes (after absorbing good Buu, SSJ3 Gotenks, Mystic Gohan, Piccolo, and Vegitto) and even split into two beings. The fat one joined the good guys, and the evil original form Buu was killed by Goku and reincarnated into Ubuu.

Cell is the ultimate creation of Dr. Gero. Gero conducted extensive research on Namic, Saiyajin, and Frieza's race's biological makeup as well as their fighting techniques. With this he managed to combine the best of all of these beings into one single entity he called Cell. The only purpose of Cell was to become the ultimate fighting machine regardless of his methods, which included taking millions of lives to fuel his body. Only when Cell absorbs #17 and #18 is his full power revealed. This is called the "Complete Form," or the 3rd stage of his development. After he reaches this plateau, he believes that no one can defeat him and everything becomes nothing more than a game in his mind. Cell always thought that Son Goku was to be his ultimate challenge, but when Son Goku forfeited the fight he was surprised to find his ultimate rival in Son Gohan, the child of Son Goku. He was killed by Son Gohan.

Cell Jr. are little blue replicas (7 in all) of Cell created from the blown up parts of Android 16. All 7 were killed by Gohan.

Chauzu was the young emperor of Mifan. He was a student of Tsuru-sennin and also his master. He and Tenshin-han discovered that their master was evil and abandoned him. In the battle against Nappa, Chauzu is killed but is revived from a wish with the Namek dragonballs.

Chichi is the daughter of Gyuumao, a huge guy that lives on the flame encircled Mt. Frypan. As a girl, she met Goku and decided to marry him. Chichi makes Goku promise too. As Goku later recalls, he didn't understand the scope of what he was promising, because he thought "marriage" was something to eat. Time flies by, and Chichi enters the 23rd Budoukai as "Anonymous." During the match with Goku, she is miffed that he doesn't remember her and thus reminds him of her identity and his promise. Goku, who easily defeats her, agrees to tie the knot. She is the mother of Gohan and Goten.

Chii-Shenlong is the evil dragon of the 7 star dragonball. This dragon with the ability to absorb and control other creatures was born when Bulma revived the people killed by Majin-Vegeta. Chii-Shenlong was killed by Goku.

Cooler or Coola is Freeza's brother. He sits in his spaceship and watches Frieza destroy Planet Vegeta and lets baby Goku fly to Earth in a Saiyan space capsule uninterfered (thinking that it was part of Frieza's plan). He lands on Earth to continue the Saiyan genocide upon learning of his brother's death, and is blown into the sun by Goku. He then merges with an alien spaceship and attempts to conquer Planet Namek, but is killed by Goku and Vegeta.

Dabura is the devil-like partner of Babi-di. He turned Krillin and Piccolo into stone, and was betrayed and killed by Buu. He later becomes good.

Dai-Kaioushin is the "grand" elder Kaioushin. He has a crystal ball that allows him to see what's happening on Earth. Dai-Kaioushin also helped Gohan enter his Mystic form, and sacrificed his own life to revive Goku.

Dende is the young Namek who became the new guardian of the Earth when Kami fused with Piccolo.

Dodoria is the fat, ugly, and dumb left-hand man of Frieza. He was responsible for killing Bardock's crew. He was killed by Vegeta.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
THE DRAGON BALLS
The Dragon Balls are legendary crystal spheres, orange in color, of which if one collects all seven of them and invokes the name of the "Shenlon" (Dragon God), the finder is granted one wish.
After the wish is granted, the balls fly up into the air and disperse across the globe, turning into stone until they reactivate themselves in a year.
The seven balls, each containing one to seven stars in them, were created by Kami-sama (God) to instill hope in the world. However, they were often misused in the past.
We later learn that there is another set of Dragon Balls, on Planet Namek. It turns out that the Dragonball term originated there and that the idea was taken to earth by Kami-sama (who turns out to be a Namek alien). The difference is that the Namek Dragonballs are much larger than earthly ones, the wish-giver is called "Porunga," and the finder receives 3 wishes. However, while with the earth Dragonballs one can revive as many people as one wants with one wish (provided that they haven't been dead twice), the Namek balls restrict the number of people to one per wish (although the number of times one has been dead doesn't matter).
Although the Dragon Balls seem all-powerful, there is an important qualification to the wishes, the Shenlon/Porunga can't grant wishes that are beyond their powers. For example, they can't stop enemies from invading the earth if the enemies are stronger than Shenlon/Porunga. However, In DBGT the "Ultimate Dragon Balls" or Black Star Dragonballs seem to be a different matter altogether.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Dr. Gero is the intelligent engineer of Red Ribbon. He developed a hatred towards Goku when Goku destroyed Red Ribbon. He is the creator of Androids 8, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, and 21, and makes himself into Android 20. He was betrayed and killed by Android 17. But, he allies with Dr. Myuu in hell to create Artificial 17 and escapes to Earth, where he was betrayed and killed again, by Super 17 upon Dr. Myuu's orders.

Dr. Myuu is the evil extraterrestrial scientist who created a bunch of robots and mutant androids. He is also the creator of Gill. His laboratory and creations were destroyed by Goku, Trunks, and Pan, and he himself was betrayed and killed by Bebi, who he found in space and saved. In hell, he allies with Dr. Gero to create Artificial 17. After escaping to Earth, he orders Super 17 to kill Dr. Gero. However, Super 17 eventually grows annoyed of Dr. Myuu and kills him.

Freeza is a space conqueror who killed King Vegeta and took over Planet Vegeta. He used the Saiyan inhabitants as mercenaries to take over other planets, but betrayed them and destroyed Planet Vegeta and Bardock. Later, he lands on Namek to seek the dragonballs to wish for immortality, but was defeated by Goku. His body parts were found in space by his father and he was rebuilt into a robotic form. He was killed by Future Trunks. He allied with Cell to terrorize hell, but was defeated by Paiku-han and Goku. He attempted this once again in Dragonball GT, but was once again defeated by Goku.

Gill is the little robot created by Dr. Myuu. It was found by Goku, Pan, and Trunks. Gill became friends with the crew after eating their Dragonball Radar.

Ginyu is the leader of the Ginyu Team. He has the power to swap bodies, but when he tried to swap bodies with Vegeta, Goku threw a frog in the way and Ginyu was turned into a frog.

Gohan Sr. is Goku's step father. Gohan found Goku abandoned in the wilderness and decided to take him in. As one of Kamesenin's students, he is a martial arts master and teaches young Goku Kung fu. Unfortunately, he was trampled to death when Goku inadvertently became a big ape during a full moon.

Gohan Jr. is Goku's first child. Piccolo becomes Gohan's first teacher and mentor when he drags Gohan out to train with him, in order to whip Gohan into shape and prepare for the impending arrival of Nappa and Vegeta. Couple of years later, during the fight with Perfect Cell, he becomes Super saiyajin 2 and defeats Cell.
Later, when he is 16, Gohan begins to attend Orange Star High School in Satan City, leading a double life of a ordinary student and crime fighter "Great Saiyaman." Ten years later, in the epilogue of the manga, we learn that Gohan has devoted his life to studying and has become what he has always wanted to be, a scientist.

Goku or Kakarotto is the main character of DB/Z/GT. In the beginning he was abbandoned by his real father Bardock and later raised by his late step father, Gohan. However, he's no ordinary boy. As a young boy , he sported a tail and is strong enough to lift small cars and deflect bullets. His step father had taught him kung-fu.
After the first adventure with Bulma and some other characters they meet along the way, Goku finds his way to Kamesenin's place in order to pursue more martial arts training. There, he meets his soon to be life-long friend, Krillin. From now on, Goku's life becomes that of continually furthering his fighting capabilities, to the point beyond any normal human. He encounters various foes, and each one seems to be exponentially stronger than the one before. Progressively, he fights off the ruthless Red Ribbon Army, the conniving Pilaf and Co., the evil Piccolo Sr., the evil Piccolo Jr., his bad brother Raditz, Nappa, Vejeta, the Ginyuu Special Combat Team, the cold Freeza, the strong Cooler, the Androids, the diabolical Cell, and finally Majin Buu. Goku also enters into several martial arts tournaments, the Tenkaichibudoukai, the first two (#21 & #22) of which resulted in second place, and in the 23rd Tenkaichibudoukai, he finally won, over evil Piccolo Jr. After the grueling match with evil Piccolo Jr., Goku marries Chichi, fulfilling a promise that he unknowingly made when he was a boy. He has two children, Gohan and Goten. Goku dies twice, once after fighting Raditz, the other after he transports Cell in an attempt to save the world. Ten years after he defeats evil Buu, Goku is hardly as ever, training for the 28th Budoukai. At that tournament, he meets the boy Uubu, who turns out to be the reincarnation of Evil Buu. Goku, satisfied with this boy's potential, makes him his student, and leaves the tournament.
Son Goku also becomes the main character, along with Trunks and Pan, of the Dragonball GT TV series. DBGT is not based on manga, it is created from completely new plot with Toriyama Akira having little participation. In this TV series, a new adventure unfolds, with Goku turning in to a child, for starters. Goku, by nature, is very kind-hearted and innocent. In fact, this influences many of his original rivals or enemies to eventually become his friends. These people include Yamcha, Krillin, Yajirobe, Tien, Chaozu, Piccolo Jr., and even Vegeta. He is also very adventuresome, and like a true Saiyajin warrior, he loves to fight and is fueled by the insatiable hunger to get stronger. He is quite strong at the beginning, but he becomes even more powerful as he learns various techniques and trains hard. He masters the Kamehameha, Genkidama, Kaiouken, Supersaiyajinforms, and teleportation. Like all Saiyajin, he burns up an incredible amount of calories, and thus, he eats mammoth amounts of food. However, when Raditz comes to destroy earth, we learn, and Goku learns, that he is actually Kakarotto, a lower-level warrior sent from Planet Vegeta to earth to exterminate humans. The tail is a characteristic feature of Goku and the Saiyajin aliens, which allows them to power up to ten times their normal level of strength during a full moon. In the TV series, we learn he is the second child of Bardock.

Goten is Goku's second child. Physically, Goten looks just like his father when he was young, especially because of the hair. Apparently, the genetic coding for hair in Saiyajin lower-level warrior males comes from a limited pool, for Goku's father Bardock also had similar hair and a totally unrelated lower-level warrior, Tulece also had a similar hair-do. Goten is a boy full of energy who has learned basic martial arts skills from his mom, training with his best friend, Trunks, and from his brother Gohan. His fighting ability is inherited from his father. He has naturally mastered, Supersaiyajin without going through special training or using anger as a trigger.

Hercule or Mr. Satan is the cowardly father of Videl. He assumed the title as the best fighter and hero of Earth when he stole the credit for killing Cell. Throughout his life with the title, he faked illnesses and used bribery to escape having to fight in the tournaments. When he got old, he passed on his title to Ubuu.

Ii-Shenlong is the evil dragon of the 1 star dragonball. He is the strongest of the evil Shenlongs. It fused with all the dragonballs, but was killed in Goku's giant Genki-Dama.

Janenba is the evil spirit of the dead who took over the body of a teenager working in the heavens. Janenba disrupted the heavens and brought all the dead back to life. He was vanquished by Gogita and the teenager returned to normal.

Jeice is the orange member of Team Vegeta. He was killed by Vegeta.

Kamesennin Mutenroushi was Goku's first Sensai and a former champion of the Budokai.

Kami is the god of Earth

King Cold is the father of Freeza and Cooler. He gathered the damaged parts of Frieza and "repaired" him. He was killed by Trunks.

King Kai is a planet watcher who is a friend of Goku and trained Goku to battle Nappa and Vegeta.

Krillin is probably one of Son Goku's longest and best friends throughout the entire Dragonball/Z/GT series. From Kamesennin's rigid training to the Budokai the two have been through thick and thin together.

Marron is the daughter of Krilin and Android 18.

Master Roshi is the Turtle Elder. He and Tsuru-sennin trained under the same master, but they became enemies because Tsuru-sennin was evil and fell in love with the same girl. Master Roshi assumed the title as the world's strongest man when he won a Tenkaichi Budoukai tournament. He trained the Ox-King and Grandpa Gohan, Goku, Krillin, and Yamcha.

Nail is the best warrior on Planet Namek. He permanently fused with Piccolo, to become a "Super Namek" in the Freeza Saga.

Nappa is the evil Saiyan partner of Vegeta. He and Vegeta traveled together to Earth to seek dragonballs for immortality. Nappa was responsible for the deaths of Chauzu, Yamcha, and Piccolo. When Goku easily defeated him, he was betrayed and killed by Vegeta. When Dr. Gero and Dr. Myuu escaped from hell, Nappa escaped as well and is again killed again by Vegeta.

Oolong is a perverted pig-like human and Goku's friend.

Ox-King is a crazy loyal student of Master Roshi and owner of Fire Mountain. He is also the father of Chi-Chi.

Pan is the daughter of Gohan and Videl.

Piccolo is the offspring of Daimon, who was the pure "evil" which separated from Kami-sama as another body. Piccolo and Kami-sama is one person in two bodies. If one of them dies, both will die. Piccolo is also Gohan's master.

Pikon is a dead warrior of West Kaio. He fought Goku in a tournament of the dead great warriors which resulted in a tie.

Mr.Popo is "Earth Guardian"'s assistant. Mr.Popo was Kami's assistant but after Kami fused with Piccolo, Mr.Popo helps Dende as the Assistant of The Guardian of Earth.

Pilaf was one of the first enemies of Goku. He attempted to steal the dragonballs from Goku and Bulma to wish for world domination, but ran away after Goku reached his Oozaru stage and destroyed his castle. Years later, Pilaf reappeares and accidentally wishes Goku back into a kid and runs away once again.

Puar is the side kick of Yamcha. Puar looks like a cat.

Raditz is Goku's big bad brother. Raditz was killed by Piccolo's Makankousappou.

Recoom is the huge, muscular, and stupid member of Team Ginyu. He was killed by Vegeta.

Ryan-Shenlong is the evil dragon of the second star dragonball. Ryan-Shenlong was killed by Goku.

Ryuu-Shenlong is the evil dragon of the sixth star dragonball. Ryuu-Shenlong was killed by Goku.

San-Shenlong is Suu-Shenlong's older brother. San-Shenlong is the evil dragon of the third star dragonball.

Super 17 is the fusion of Android 17 and Artificial 17. He was killed by Goku.

Suu-Shenlong is the evil dragon of the fourth star dragonball.

Tao Pai-Pai is Tsuru-sennin's brother. He has the title as the World's Greatest Assissant. He was killed by Goku.

Taurus is a saiyajin, who is believed to be the clone of Son Gokou. He was killed by Goku.

Tien was a disciple of Tsurusennin and evil but became good after meeting Goku. He is always accompanied by Chaozu, his friend.

Trunks is the son of Bulma and Vegeta. There are two different Trunks, one coming from a grim and chaotic future and one that was born in a comfortable home in a comparatively more peaceful time. Trunks can fuse with Goten to become Gotenks.

Ubuu is the reincarnation of evil Buu. When fat Buu was killed by Baby, Buu's particles fused back with Ubuu. Ubuu also won Satan's title as the world's best fighter and trained with Goku.

Uranai Baba is Master Roshi's sister. This little old witch can bring a dead person back to life for 24 hours and can see what's happening in the world with her crystal ball and the future.

Uu-Shenlong is the evil dragon of the fifth star dragonball. He was killed by Goku.

Vegeta was Goku's enemy at first, later rival. Born on Planet Vegeta as a prince, this proud Saiyajin is classified as an elite warrior. He marries Bulma and has two kids, Trunks and Bra.

Vegetto is the fusion of Goku and Vegeta, when each wore one of Dai-Kaioushin's special earrings on opposite ears.

Videl is Hercule's daughter. She joined Gohan in crime fighting and became part of the Great Saiyan-man team. Later, she married Gohan and has a daughter, Pan.

Yajirobe is a cowardly fat warrior who hangs around in Karin Tower. His most important contributions were cutting off Vegeta's tail and giving sensu beans to the Z-warriors, when they were down.

Yamcha is one of the fierce Z-warriors. When Yamcha met Bulma, it was love at first sight, and they remained a couple for many years. In the end however, Bulma ended up with Vegeta. His importance diminishes in Dragonball Z by the presence of the mighty Super Saiyajins.

Zarbon is a handsome blue right-hand man of Frieza. He was the one who gave Freeza the idea that the Saiyans might become a threat. From this idea, Freeza destroyed Planet Vegeta. He was killed by Vegeta.
