Playstation

Genre: 3D Fighting

Graphics:
This game is the best Dragonball game ever created when it comes to
the graphics before Dragonball Z Budokai. The polygonal characters are very
well designed and stick to their anime look. The backgrounds are also well
designed which help give pleasant feel to the during gameplay.
Audio:
The audio in the game is also one of its best features. The themes
played give it a great audio-visual appeal.
Gameplay:
The gameplay is the worst feature of the game. When you press a button,
for instance to punch the reaction time is delayed. Also the lack of fighting
techniques is a pain in the neck. Each character has the basic moves and
about 4 other combo moves plus special attacks. If you're use to fast paced
games such as Street Fighter then this is not the game for you. It does
have on the other hand a build up feature so you can power up your character.
Overall:
This game despite the slow reaction time of the buttons is fun to play
with a friend. The story mode gameplay is good, but you'll get bored after
a while. If you're a Dragon Ball GT fan, then you may like this game,
simply because it stars all your favorite Dragon Ball GT characters.

Graphics:
This game is not as graphical as other db games like "DragonBall GT
Final Bout". It has choppy 3d backgrounds and the characters themselves
look like paper cut-outs. The 2d characters and the 3d scenes do not flow
smoothly together at all.
Audio:
The audio in the game is one of its best features. The themes played
give it a great audio-visual appeal as well as lure you away from their
bad graphics.
Gameplay:
The gameplay is very similar to a fast paced game such as Street Fighter
and Mortal Combat. There are definately more techniques when compared
to "DragonBall GT Final Bout", and a broader selection of characters(27
to be exact). When you press a button to punch the reaction is almost accurate,
you can also pull off combos and many other techniques. The modes of play
include Tournament, Versus, a storyline mode, and a Build-Up Mode.
Overall:
This game like all the other DragonBall games are fun to play with
a friend. This game has a great character selection, so if you want to
face off against "Perfect Cell" using "Mr. Satan:" you can actually win.
It also has some nice animation intros after the versus screen.

Graphics:
The graphics on this game are the worst of all Dragonball games made
for the Playstation. Some Super NES games have better animated characters
and backgrounds.
Audio:
Like almost every Dragon Ball game, the audio is true to the series.
It goes well with the game and the sound fx are decent. Nothing too impressive.
Gameplay:
This is another flaw for this game, this isn't a Street Fighter type
of combat in fact it's very different. You can have up to 3 fighters on
your team and all the battles are in the air. You're basically playing tug-o-war
with the other player, you each are fighting to get the meter on your side
and you eventually do a super attack. Sounds interesting right? you'll be
dissapointed.
Overall:
There are 32 characters in the game, but the only real difference between
them is their meteo attacks and their strenghts.
Super Nintendo (Super
Famicom)
Publisher: Bandai
Developer: Bandai
Genre: 2D Fighting
Origin: Japan
System: SNES
Number of Players: 1-2
Review-
Graphics:
This game has the best 2D graphics for any Super Nintendo DBZ game
ever made. The characers are very detailed to perfectly fit the anime series.
The backgrounds are also very detailed and are made to fit the series, for
example on the Namek stage, the scenes look like the planet prior to explosion.
Audio:
All of the sounds come straight from the show, and can be very enjoyable,
and the background music is very good.
Gameplay:
The gameplay is what makes this game. It features Story Mode, VS.,
Fighting and Training Mode. The VS. Mode is definately the games high
point, you can set your energy to be from 10 to 900 which can be very good
for facing people that aren't very good at the game. The character selection
is also very good, you can pick from the following: SS Goko, Majin Vegeta,
Gohan, SS3 Gotenks, SS Vegetto, Piccolo, Super Buu, Majin Buu, Frieza (form
4) and Perfect Cell. The fighting style is very similar to that of Street
Fighter.
Overall:
If you are a DBZ fan, and have not played this game yet, you are missing
out on something incredible. It is a very addictive game once you learn
how to play it, and you can spend hours upon hours, just playing with a
friend.
Gameboy/Color
Publisher: Bandai
Developer: Bandai
Genre: RPG
Origin: Japan
Number of Players: 1
System: Gameboy
Recommended: Gameboy Color Version
Review-
Graphics:
The graphics for the talking scenes and pre-fights are decent, but
not amazing. The actual fight pictures, though, are taken straight from
the manga, and the mini-games are funny to watch (they almost look like
Final Fantasy characters with huge heads and small bodies).
Audio:
The sound effects are good. The punches sound like punches, the kicks
sound like kicks, and the general movement and charging up sounds good as
well. Some of the little sounds are a little too irritating. There is music,
but it's not really that great!
Gameplay:
This game really doesn't have to worry about play control at all. The
only trouble you might have with it is when you're trying to avoid an attack,
or when you're training with King Kai, for instance in order to catch Bubbles,
the monkey, you need to alternate the A and B buttons as fast as you can.
It's difficult, but the rest of the game is tolerable. The more you use
certain attacks, the bigger and better versions of those attacks you eventually
get! The only down point is that there have been Dragon Ball games before
spanning this part of the story.
Overall:
This is a great game, and has alot of replay value, especially during
the World Tournament, where you can fight almost any of the previous opponents
in the story mode. The sounds are good, and the music is great for a Gameboy
game.
Publisher: Bandai
Developer: Bandai
Genre: RPG

System: Gameboy
Recommended: Gameboy Color Version
Review-
Graphics:
The graphics aren't that good, but that's because this is a Game Boy
game and it has limited capacities.
Audio:
The sound is very good, especially the music. Unlike the other Gameboy
Dragonball games, this one has better music themes. The sound fx are decent
too.
Gameplay:
In story mode, what you do is explore Namek. While you do, you train
your fighters so that they become stronger. Optimizing everybody's training
is tough, because you might make an error that would make somebody's training
harder to optimize than it already is. Also, everybody including the character(s)
you can't use get experience, and the fighter you're using is the only
one who battles enemies 1-on-1 (in most cases) until you switch fighters.
As you get further in story mode, you unlock bosses that are dead or otherwise
unable to fight very well at the point of the story you're at as CPU-controlled
characters, and Goku, Super Saiyan Goku, and Piccolo as both CPU- and player-controlled
fighters. In Tournament mode, you can battle whomever you want with any
Z squad member you unlocked, as long as the person you want to fight isn't
Frieza or one of his main thugs, or the person has been defeated for the
last time. Eight fighters compete for the champion of the tournament. The
winners of the 1st and 2nd fights battle each other in the 5th fight, while
the winners of the 3rd and 4th battles get to battle each other in fight
6. The victors of battles 5 and 6 get to decide who gets the championship
for the tournament. As for battle mode, you have a fighter of yours battle
a fighter of another player using a game link.
Overall:
Going through the game again isn't a bad idea, that is, if you want
a better challenge. If you're lucky enough to find this game, definitely
buy it. It's almost like Pokemon.
DBZ
game: Challenge of mite
I found this game at, http://www.dragonball-gt.com, while surfing the
internet. Its a small interesting game that uses the second Dragonball Z
SNES games sprite for its main graphics. The object of the game is to build
up your power so that you can destroy the target (which looks like a large
red punching bag) by pressing the A, S, and D keyboard buttons as fast
as you can. The sound effects suck but the game is still cool. You can
download it below. Check it out.
