Dragonball Z Movie?
" The Official Dragon Ball Z site (dragonballz.com) had this to say,
about the upcoming DBZ Movie:
"The heroes from your favorite series are headed to the big screen.
20th Century FOX announced the acquisition of feature film rights to the
DragonBall property, and is planning for its studio division, FOX 2000,
to develop a live action movie based on the property. This is very exciting
news for Dragon Ball Z fans.
FUNimation Vice President and Producer Daniel Cocanougher had this
to say: FUNimation is very excited to be working with FOX in their production
of a live-action Dragon Ball Z Feature Film. FOX plans to place this movie
on a fast-track production schedule, and may have a movie released as production
schedule, and may have a movie released as early as Fall 2003 or Summer
2004. FOX is an excellent movie studio, producing such huge hits as X-Men
and Star Wars, among many others. They feel that this project will not
end with one movie, but will become a major, multi-picture franchise like
Star Wars. Clearly, this is a remarkable upward turning point for the Dragon
Ball Z property. It will also be very interesting for all Dragon Ball Z
fans to try to predict the names of the stars, the director and producers,
and the storyline that will be used." To the right here is a promo banner
for the movie".
~Jackie Chan is indeed likely to star in the live-action DBZ movie.
Filming should begin soon. Jackie Chan is also ready to premier his new
movie titled "The Medallion".

Dragonball AF is Real!!!!
DragonBall Af is a new Dragon Ball series being developed in Japan
right at this moment. The series is supposed to be called "Dragon Ball
AF" and the AF is supposed to stand for 1. After Future, 2. Alternate
Future, 3. Another Future most likely (1). I looked up more information
about this
situation from much larger more in depth sites and I found out several
things. Dragonball AF is not a freaking hoax, or a idea by Akira Toriyama
made awhile ago which never flew, its real trust me. Its being developed
by a company named "Studio Tomita" and will be shown in Japan at the
end of 2003's fourth quater or winter.
In Dragon Ball AF Raditz comes back as a Super Saiya-jin level 3,
Freiza and Kooler fuse, Cell absorbs Android 8, Goku goes Super Saiya-jin
level 5 and then 6 also goku learns how to fuse with 3 people. If this show
is not a hit in Japan, there is not going to be a chance that it's going
to come to North America. Just remember how Dragonball GT was denied and
called a hoax. (05/0703: Dragonball AF is not real, I wrote
this up inorder to grab the attention of DBZ fans and increase web traffic,
So quit e-mailing me and writing in my guestbook about it. But the idea
is interesting....lol)

Dragonball GT making its comeback...
When the summer of 1995 came to a end, one of the greatest anime
ever ended too, Dragonball Z. Many people didn't want it to end though,
especially the companies. Dragonball had been such a great merchandise
hit, marketing things such as t-shirts, posters, video games and etc.
So with pressure from companies and agencies a new program was made to
fill Dragonball Z's place, Dragonball GT. This time though Toriyama (the
creator) was only an artistic consultant and had no direct control over
the series, so he got booted (damn).
So on Februrary 7, 1996 Dragonball GT began. What did people think
of it? To be honest most people did not like it. You may wonder why. The
main reason was because they had fallen in love with the fighting style
in DBZ, but when DBGT was created, the first episodes were full of comedy
with fighting. Around the Spring of 1996 Akira Toriyama in an interview
joked about bringing back DBZ if DBGT didn't do as well as it was supossed
to. A group of people though, who hated the show, took seriously and were
extremely happy that DBGT may be ending soon. Of course the truth was
found out and DBGT went on. What would happen to DBGT? Well, finally the
show began to go back to being a fighting anime and this began to get people
a little more interested into the show. The effort though was to little
to late. The show was originally going to end around April 1997, but DB
Final Bout by "Sony Playstation" had not come out, yet. So the producers
were forced to extend the show a little bit longer, but the day finally
came and DBGT ended. On November 19, 1997 DBGT aired its last episode. The
last episode of DBGT amazingly though is considered to be the best epsidode
they have ever seen by a lot of people. Dragonball GT was the shortest of
the three series, spanning only 64 epsisodes and 1 tv special. So how could
a show with the success of DB all of a sudden fail in DBGT. There are many
reason's. It is almost like american DB. A lot of people are used to the
origianl japanese Dragonball, but now that they watch the dubs they do not
like them at all. People do not like change. Well, with DBGT came change.
First off, DBGT was changed from a fighting anime into a comedy relief anime
and only changed its direction after there fan base had already turned away.
The absence of Akira Toriyama did not help much either. After Toriyama left,
Toei took over the hiring of artists and many people did not like the new
character designs. So, probably the main reason that DBGT failed was because
it was to different, the people had grown used to one thing and then all
of a sudden things were changed, as if they wouldn't notice.
It is my job though in the following pages to try and tell you all
I know of DBGT, A series that I enjoyed and hopfully you will to. In
the "DBgt" page you will find episode summaries, images, DBGT perfect file
guides, and everything else I think you should know about DBGT. There is
only one way I can finish off this introduction though and here it is.
Before you go and watch DBGT I am going to give you this advice. Do not
listen to everyone who says that DBGT stinks. Go into it with an open mind
and know it will be different, if you go into it thinking that it will be
a direct continuation of DBZ then you will be disappointed. Oh yeah, and
by the way, enjoy!
